Easdale Island Folk Museum tells the story of the island’s once-intensive slate industry and the community that grew around it. Displays also cover social life, geology, boats, military and medical history, with local records and artefacts giving context to the quarry landscape visible around the island.

Campervan practical note
Easdale Island has no visitor road access. Leave the campervan in appropriate parking at Ellenabeich and continue as a foot passenger on the ferry.
Local support & visitor value
The museum is community owned and staffed largely by local volunteers, directly supporting preservation of Easdale’s history and encouraging spending in the island community.
