Neptune's Staircase

About

Neptune's Staircase is a sequence of eight locks on the Caledonian Canal at Banavie, just outside Fort William. It is a good low-effort stop between travel legs, combining engineering heritage, canal-side views and the chance to watch boats working through the locks. Check the official Scottish Canals page for current visitor information.
