About
A short uphill walk from the visitor centre brings you to a classic view of the Glenfinnan Viaduct, made famous by the Jacobite steam train. Time your visit with the train timetable for the full effect, and enjoy the Loch Shiel monument below.
Parking notes
Use the official NTS pay-and-display car park, which has dedicated motorhome bays — it fills very early in summer. Roadside parking is prohibited and actively enforced.
Responsible travel
Please use the official car park only — roadside and verge parking damages the area and blocks emergency access.
Please use designated parking, avoid blocking roads or passing places, respect local communities, and check current conditions before travelling.
