About
Sutherland’s Grove is known for towering firs, some more than 50 metres high, alongside older oak and Scots pine woodland. Waymarked trails follow a rocky gorge with waterfalls and give a choice of shorter woodland experiences suitable for a stop between Oban and Appin.

Campervan practical note
Use the signed FLS car park just north of Barcaldine. Parking is chargeable. Current path works mean the upper car park is closed and some trail sections can close intermittently.

Provides a managed forest destination close to Barcaldine and Benderloch services, helping visitors stop and explore rather than only driving the A828 corridor.
Parking notes
Use the signed Forestry and Land Scotland car park on the east side of the A828 north of Barcaldine. Parking is chargeable. Follow temporary signs because the upper car park and trail sections are affected by current improvement work.
Responsible travel
Follow all forestry work signs, use only open routes and keep clear of timber traffic. Do not park on verges or block forest gates if the formal car park is busy.
Please use designated parking, avoid blocking roads or passing places, respect local communities, and check current conditions before travelling.
