About
The Slate Islands Heritage Centre occupies a former quarry worker’s cottage in Ellenabeich. Its displays cover slate quarrying, everyday island life, public health, local wildlife and genealogy, giving visitors a compact introduction to the industry and communities that shaped Seil, Easdale, Luing and the wider Slate Islands.

Use the public/community parking in Ellenabeich and walk to the centre. Do not use harbour or resident spaces, and leave the vehicle on Seil if continuing to car-free Easdale Island.

Run by the Slate Islands Heritage Trust, with donations and small purchases supporting conservation of the area’s built, natural and cultural heritage.
