The Falls of Lora are a powerful tidal race formed where Loch Etive narrows beneath Connel Bridge. The effect changes dramatically with the tide, from relatively calm water to fast standing waves and turbulent currents. Checking the dedicated tide predictions before arriving makes this a far more rewarding short viewpoint stop.

Campervan practical note
The best straightforward viewing point is the viewpoint/lay-by west of Connel Bridge on the A85 in front of the Oyster Inn. Do not stop on the bridge or road approaches to watch the falls.
Local support & visitor value
Encourages a short, informed stop in Connel and can be combined with nearby food, services and other Dunbeg/Connel attractions rather than treating the A85 only as a through-route.
Parking notes
Use the established viewpoint parking area on the A85 west of the bridge, in front of the Oyster Inn, if your vehicle fits safely. Do not stop on Connel Bridge, its approaches or other traffic-sensitive roadside positions.
Responsible travel
Treat this as a viewpoint, not casual water access. The tidal race can be extremely powerful. Park only in a safe designated area and keep well clear of traffic and hazardous water.
