Overview

Strone Hill is an official Forestry and Land Scotland Stay the Night location just off the A85 east of Dalmally. It provides six overnight motorhome spaces for self-contained campervans and motorhomes and is normally one of the FLS locations with chemical-waste disposal. The disposal point is currently closed for essential maintenance, so visitors needing that service should use Bridge of Orchy instead and check FLS for updates before travelling.

Why this is a better choice

  • Explicit Forestry and Land Scotland overnight permission
  • Six defined spaces rather than informal roadside parking
  • Clear responsible-use rules and authorised waste-disposal alternatives while the local point is closed

Responsible stay notes

Park considerately, leave at least 4m between vehicles and keep verges, gates and trails clear. The on-site chemical-disposal point is currently closed; use Bridge of Orchy and check current FLS alerts before travel.

Local rules

Stay for one night only between 18:00 and 10:00 and do not return within 48 hours. Spaces cannot be reserved and payment is made on arrival through RingGo. Vehicles must be self-contained. No fires, barbecues or generators.

Nearby food & shops

The nearest public toilets and other practical facilities are in Dalmally and Tyndrum. Chemical-waste disposal is currently available at Bridge of Orchy.
